Frequently Asked Questions

Can Pakistani students apply to Swedish universities directly?

Yes, Pakistani students apply through the official Swedish admissions portal β€” universityadmissions.se. All undergraduate and master’s applications are submitted through this centralised platform, where you can select up to four program choices in one application.

For undergraduate programs, a minimum of 60% in HSSC (FSc / FA / ICS) is required. For master’s programs, you need a bachelor’s degree with at least 180 credit hours and a minimum of 60–70% in your academics, depending on the university and program.

An English language test is required for most programs. The accepted tests are IELTS (6.5 overall, no band below 5.5), PTE (62 overall, 61 in writing), and TOEFL iBT (4.5 total on a 1–6 scale, no section below 4).

The main intake is September, with an application deadline of 15 January. There is also a January intake, with applications open from 2 June to 15 August. It is strongly recommended to apply as early as possible since seats are competitive.

The application fee is 900 SEK (approximately PKR 28,000). Tuition fees range from 55,000 to 90,000 SEK per semester for bachelor’s and per year for master’s programs. Monthly living expenses are estimated at PKR 10,600, totalling around PKR 127,200 annually.

You are required to show a bank statement of PKR 55 to 60 lakh, plus any remaining first-year tuition fee if not already paid. This demonstrates sufficient financial support for your studies and living expenses in Sweden.
